Conditions That May Cause Hypotension

Low Blood Pressure During Pregnancy
A specific medical condition can cause hypotension given below:
Pregnancy
Because a woman's circulatory system grows faster during pregnancy, her blood pressure may drop. This is normal and blood pressure often returns to normal before pregnancy and childbirth.
Heart Problems
Other heart conditions that can cause low blood pressure include hypertension (bradycardia), heart valve problems, heart disease and heart failure.
Endocrine Problems
Thyroid conditions such as parathyroid disease - adrenal insufficiency (Addison Disease), low blood sugar (hypoglycemia) and in some cases diabetes can cause low blood pressure.
Dehydration
When you become dehydrated you lose more water than you did. Even mild dehydration can cause weakness, dizziness and fatigue. Fever, vomiting, severe diarrhea, overuse of drugs and strenuous exercise can lead to dehydration.
Blood Loss
Losing a lot of blood from a major injury or internal bleeding reduces the amount of blood in your body, leading to a significant drop in blood pressure.
Severe Infections (Septicemia)
Septicemia can occur when an infection in the body enters the bloodstream. This condition can lead to a life-threatening drop in blood pressure called septic shock.
